Orkin is committed to helping protect your health from disease-carrying pests like mosquitoes. To help reduce mosquito populations, Orkin offers a unique mosquito service. This service includes a detailed inspection of potential breeding sites and treatment of standing water as well as shrubbery and other areas where mosquitoes tend to land and rest.

Orkin and its sister pest control companies will donate a minimum of $100,000 in 2008 for 10,000 insecticide-treated bed nets to the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign — a global, grassroots effort dedicated to saving lives by preventing malaria in Africa. One hundred percent of the donation will be used to purchase and distribute the nets and educate African communities about their proper use.

What Can You Do?

  1. Sign up for Orkin’s mosquito service.
    When you sign up for mosquito service this season, we will purchase a mosquito net through Nothing But Nets. Every net helps prevent malaria by creating a protective barrier against mosquitoes at night (when the vast majority of transmissions occur).
  2. Donate funds directly.
    In addition to reclaiming your own yard from mosquitoes, you also can donate funds directly to Nothing But Nets to send a net and save a life.
  3. Spread the word.
    Remind your neighbors about the dangers mosquitoes pose, both here and around the world. Let them know about Orkin’s Fight the Bite campaign and our efforts to wage war on mosquitoes and the deadly diseases they can carry. Tell a friend about Fight the Bite.
